Kieffer Moore was also on target for the tenth time this season for the Millers, who remain fourth in League One.

Millers boss Paul Warne said: “The thing that makes my heart flutter with pride is that every time the ball went into the box you could see our lads throwing their bodies on the line.

“They were competing to keep a clean sheet and that is three on the trot for us which is quite an achievement for us.

“I always fancy us to score goals and without stating the obvious if we can keep clean sheets we give ourselves a great chance.

“From all the home wins we have had, this is the most satisfying. We have played some good teams here but I think they are the best. We knew they were going to cause us problems.

“The first goal was a massive goal for us. They could have scored and the game could have taken a different tilt.

“There were good performances throughout the team. I am really proud that our lads came out on top.”
