KIERAN AGARD was left to bask in the glow of a sweet two-goal haul last night, which helped Rotherham United move within seven points of second-placed Brentford following a tremendous 3-0 victory at the New York Stadium.
Agard’s tally - including his second successive penalty following his cool spot-kick against Peterborough on Saturday - took his seasonal haul to twenty and helped extend the Millers’ fine unbeaten run to 14 matches.
On his first-half penalty, he said: “Everyone wants to take them and I think that’s the confidence in the squad and we all practice every day in training.”
And on his superb second just before the interval, the Londoner added: “The build-up was fantastic. Prings (Ben Pringle) laid it off to Nicky (Adams) in the box and he took a fantastic touch and I just came onto it and guided it into the net. It was a great team goal.
“It was a great night for the club. I think the lads worked extremely hard and we got our just desserts.
“We worked so hard and it just goes to show if we do what we are meant to do, we will get the results.
