SHEFFIELD UNITED boss Nigel Adkins has confirmed that Matt Done is in the reckoning for the glamour FA Cup third-round trip to Manchester United on Saturday.
The former Barnsley and Rochdale player had been a doubt with a hamstring strain, with Blades chief Adkins admitting after last weekend’s League One loss to Peterborough United that he wasn’t sure if he would be fit in time.
But Done trained on Thursday morning and is now in the fray to feature at the weekend.
Adkins, whose Blades side will be backed by just over 8,500 fans at Old Trafford on Saturday tea-time, said: “He is a Salford lad and will be desperate to play against Manchester United and he’s trained this morning (Thursday) and we will assess where we are with everybody in preparation for what will be a great game.
“We have one or two more with little niggles, but I am sure everyone is going to put themselves forward.
“Who wouldn’t want to put themselves forward for Manchester United in the third round of the FA Cup?.”
On the tie, he said: “It’s a case of football with three results on offer and we will be more than delighted with two of them.
“Obviously, we have to go there with no fear factor.”
