Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough was unhappy after seeing his Blades side held at home by Oldham.
It looked optimistic for the hosts when Jose Baxter fired in a fierce low shot after just 30 seconds, but United were second best for large periods in the first 45 minutes.
And it was no surprise when Oldham took the lead via former Blade Jonathan Forte, tucking the ball away in front of the Kop.
It needed a 63rd-minute goal from substitute Jamal Campbell-Ryce to bring the sides level, firing home an angled shot through a packed penalty area.
Oldham’s Jabo Ibehre was sent off with three minutes remaining after being shown a second yellow card.
