Chris Wilder saw his first Sheffield United home league game end in a stalemate as Rochdale drew 1-1 at Bramall Lane in League One.
Andrew Cannon broke the deadlock just before the break, after ood work from Ian Henderson, edging the visitors in front.
But with nine minutes remaining, Billy Sharp pounced for the equaliser.
Wilder said: “It’s a start. It wasn’t our best performance so far but we picked ourselves up after their goal, which was a poor one to concede.
“It punctured us as a team after we started well again and it went from positive to negative quickly.
“But we had a desire to get something from the game and we did. It’s a start and we go from there.”
