SHEFFIELD United have dropped plans to appeal against striker James Beattie’s red card at Exeter City last weekend.

Beattie was sent off for a two-footed challenge on midfielder James Dunne and will now miss the play-offs.

Beattie, the former Southampton, Blackburn and Everton striker, was re-signed by the Blades earlier this season.
