Sheffield Wednesday have re-signing Chris Kirkland and completed a deal for Chelsea midfielder Sam Hutchinson.
Former England goalkeeper Kirkland was out of contract, but has agreed a new 12-month deal to stay at Hillsborough.
The 31-year-old’s signing comes less than 24 hours after the Owls brought in Republic of Ireland international Keiren Westwood, who was a free transfer after leaving Sunderland.
The duo look set to battle it our for the No 1 jersery under coach Stuart Gray, and the Owls boss looks set to announce several more signings in the coming days.
The first of those is expected to be midfielder Sam Hutchinson, who is available after a loan spell from Chelsea last season.
Kirkland joined Wednesday in the summer of 2012 and has since posted 83 appearances for the club.
Hutchinson, 24, joins on a two-year deal after playing for the Owls on a loan deal at the end of last season.
