CARLOS CARVALHAL has confirmed that young goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith will line up for the Owls in tomorrow night’s Championship clash at Bolton Wanderers.

With Keiren Westwood still not 100 per cent fit, boyhood Wednesdayite Wildsmith, 19, will start his second successive league game.

On Wildsmith, who impressed with a competent showing despite the Owls’ 3-1 loss at Burnley at the weekend, said: “Joe will play at the beginning.

“He did very well and we trust him 100 per cent. We don’t have any problems with goalkeepers because we have goalkeepers who give us 100 per cent confidence.”

And on the situation with Westwood, who picked up a side strain in training last week following on from the kidney problem, which has kept him out of action since August 15, Carvalhal added: “He has started training. But because he didn’t play on Saturday and the match is Tuesday, we want players who are 100 per cent.

“He will not be in squad. But soon he will be good to start.”
