The man who brought David Wagner to Huddersfield Town is sidelined

Brought in to replace Ross Wilson following his departure to Southampton, Webber has carved out a good reputation at the John Smith’s Stadium.

He brought in David Wagner and played a leading role in the recruitment that has taken the Terriers to within touching distance of the Premier League.

Norwich, who are considering a move for Uwe Rosler in their hunt for a new manager, are understood to be keen to bring Webber to Carrow Road to perform an overhaul of their football operations.

As was the case with Wilson, losing Webber will be a blow, though Wagner, who will speak to the media this afternoon about the matter, is unlikely to be disrupted in the short-term due to being focued on the run-in.

A club statement read: “In response to recent speculation in the media, Huddersfield Town can confirm that head of football operations Stuart Webber has expressed a desire to leave the football club.

“As a result, Stuart has been placed on garden leave until the matter is resolved.”
