FORMER Huddersfield Town midfielder Duane Holmes is set to join Charlton Athletic.

The 21-year-old American is on the look out for a new club after leaving Town and he is expected to join the Addicks, who have appointed Russell Slade as manager.

Several sides have previously been linked with Holmes, including Barnsley and Portsmouth.

Meanwhile, released Hull City forward Sone Aluko has been linked with a move to Derby County.

The 27-year-old is available on a free transfer after been informed that he will be released when his Tigers contract expires at the end of this season.

On the incoming front, predatory Wigan Athletic striker Will Grigg is reportedly on the radar of Hull.

The 24-year-old fired an impressive 25 goals in 40 games for the Latics and is part of Northern Ireland’s Euro 2016 squad.

Barnsley, who have seen loanee Josh Brownhill join Bristol City, are reportedly tracking Walsall’s out-of-contract midfielder Sam Mantom, whose deal with the Saddlers expires shortly.

Walsall have offered Mantom a two year deal to stay, with the player having until June 20 to accept the offer or else it will expire.

Meanwhile, Leeds United are reportedly keen on a move for Barnsley’s Ashley Fletcher, who has headed back to Manchester United after helping the Reds clinch promotion to the top-flight.

United owner Massimo Cellino watched Fletcher in Barnsley’s recent League One play-off final with Millwall and also checked out defender Alfie Mawson.

Celtic striker Anthony Stokes, who had a loan spell at Hibs last season, is on the wanted list of Rotherham United manager Alan Stubbs.

The 27-year-old had a productive loan spell at Easter Road last term, but is down the pecking order at Celtic Park.

Coventry City are keen to sign Sheffield Wednesday striker Caolan Lavery if his expected release is confirmed this week.

Lavery’s contract with Wednesday expires this summer and fresh terms are unlikely to be offered with the Northern Irish forward well down the pecking order at Hillsborough.
