Transfer gossip (Tues, July 12): Tigers and Boro make moves

HULL CITY are targeting at least six signings to kick-start their summer transfer business - with the Tigers in advanced talks to sign Bordeaux defender Lamine Sane and Wales forward Hal Robson-Kanu.

Hull have spoken with Bordeaux regarding a £3m deal to sign Senegalese international centre-half Sane, 29 - a team-mate of Tigers midfielder Mo Diame - and will also table a bid for Euro 2016 star Robson-Kanu.

The former Reading man is a free agent and has attracted interest from home and abroad, with Everton and Galatasaray among of host of clubs in the hunt along with Hull.

With Allan McGregor set to be out for up to six months with a back injury, bringing in some goalkeeping cover is another priority area for Bruce.

Bruce, who has confirmed that one target in Nick Powell is set to join Wolves, also has an interest in Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason, but despite talk of a £10m bid, no discussions have been held.

Middlesbrough are pulling out the stops to sign Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo on a season-long loan and are also hoping to sign his team-mate Antonio Barragan.

Spain international Negredo, who has previously spent a spell in England at Manchester City, is due to travel to Teesside to undergo a medical shortly.

Negredo, 30, - who scored 23 times in 49 games in his time at City - has already rejected two lucrative offers from China and any move to Boro would include a non-binding purchase clause of around €10m that all parties will have to agree to if it is to be activated next summer.

Bradford City manager Stuart McCall has decided against taking Burnley midfielder George Green on loan.

The ex-Bantams player had been training with the club in pre-season and played the second half of Saturday’s friendly against Guiseley.
