Neven Subotic’s much-vaunted move from Borussia Dortmund to Middlesbrough has reportedly collapsed over complications surrounding his medical.

The Dortmund centre-back looked all set to become another piece of Boro’s summer re-rebuilding jigsaw with the 27-year-old due to link up with his new team-mates on their pre-season camp in Marbella.

But the deal is said to be off and unlikely to be revived after the defender’s medical raised concerns.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton and Sunderland were all previously linked with the Serbian international who made only five Bundesliga starts for Dortmund last term and missed the final seven fixtures due to thrombosis in his arm.

Boro, are, though, still expected to complete the signings of Valencia’s Spanish centre-forward Alvaro Negredo and Uruguayan midfielder Gaston Ramirez, both of whom have linked up with their new team-mates in Marbella, with confirmation of their transfers imminent.

Hull will be without first choice goalkeeper Allan McGregor until the new year and Westwood reportedly has a £2m buy-out clause.

The Tigers have also enquired about Cardiff City’s David Marshall, who would likely cost around £6 million.

Hull have also been strongly linked with a move for Robson-Kanu’s Welsh team-mate Chris Gunter, a full back, whilst striker Peter Odemwingie is also on trial at the club.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Leeds United are being linked with a move for former Wigan Athletic right-back Reece Wabara who is a free agent.

Wabara spent the first half of last season on loan at Barnsley and Whites head coach Garry Monk is known to want another centre-back and a right-back though his own personal enthusiasm about Wabara is unclear.

Huddersfield Town’s transfer business is done according to their head coach David Wagner while Rotherham United have signed former England Under-21 midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey on a season-long loan from Championship rivals Brighton.

In League One, Sheffield United have rejected a £7m bid from an unnamed Championship club for young forward Che Adams.

On the incoming front, the Blades are chasing Bury’s top goalscorer Leon Clarke and have reportedly had a bid rejected.
