Blair strike enough for York’s progress
FA TROPHY: A 48th-minute goal by Mattie Blair, his 15th of the season, gave York City a place in the quarter-finals at the expense of Ebbsfleet.
York – who now travel to Grimsby on February 25 – had much the better of the first half; Paddy McLaughlin shooting wide and having a shot deflected over the bar.
New signings Erik Tomme and Ben Swallow were soon involved, Tomme having a shot saved and Swallow shooting wide. At the other end, Gozie Ugwu saw Michael Ingham save his low shot.
York went ahead three minutes after the break when Walker crossed from the left and Scott Kerr got a touch to it before Blair scored at the far post.
Ebbsfleet were almost gifted an equaliser in the 51st minute when a blunder by Chris Doig let in Liam Enver-Marum, but Ingham saved.
Jason Walker hit the post from the penalty spot four minutes from time after Blair had been tripped by Joe Howe.
