Darlington 2 York City 2: Minstermen fightback earns point
York City dropped two points but snatched a draw as they battle from 2-0 down to draw at troubled Darlington in the Blue Square Premier.
York were without the suspended Scott Brown and injured Jason Walker. David McGurk was named on the bench.
The hosts took a surprise lead two minutes before the break, Adam Rundle on target for Darlington, getting on the end of Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s cross.
And it soon got worse for the Minstermen when John McReady netted after the break on 49 minutes, the City defence backing off to give the Darlington player time to pick his spot.
But an amazing two minutes saw York pull level. Chris Smith (60) netted from a corner before Ashley Chambers (61) pounced to equalise with a low drive.
