KEVAN Hurst and Ryan Bowman picked up an unwanted double as York City slipped to defeat in League Two.
Both Southend’s Hurst and York’s Bowman scored goals before later receiving red cards as both sides finished the game with 10 men.
Hurst put the hosts in front after just six minutes, before Bowman equalised on 56 minutes.
But with both sides having seen players take early baths, it was Southend who snatched a late winner through Luke Prosser.
Defeat leaves York in 19th place, three points above the relegation spots.
