York City manager Russ Wilcox has called on his team to be more clinical after they slipped to a home defeat to Hartlepool United.
It looked promising for Yok when Reece Thompson netted from a Luke Summerfield cross.
But the equaliser came when Billy Paynter netted on 71 minutes levelled things, before Michael Woods grabbed a winner.
“I asked the lads to be more entertaining at home and I thought the first 45 minutes were certainly the best we’ve played since I’ve been here,” said Wilcox.
“We had 16 attempts at their goal today. But again it boils down to both boxes and being a bit more clinical.
“Certainly in the first half when we dominated you’ve got to score and we didn’t.”
