Hallamshire’s Morgan denied by countback in Pleasington Putter

HALLAMSHIRE’S Holly Morgan narrowly missed out on success in the Pleasington Putter, defeated only on second-round countback.

Morgan (72 72) lost out to Wynyard’s Rebecca Horner (73 71) by virtue of the latter’s better afternoon score.

Melissa Wood, of Woodsome Hall, came home in 10th place, and also took the prize for best net aggregate. She shot 75 75 for a 142 net.

Sixteenth was Huddersfield’s Megan Lockett (77 75), four shots ahead of Wood’s club-mate Rochelle Morris (74 82).

Other Yorkshire players in the field were Lucy Eaton (Skipton, 77 81), Hannah Holden (Lightcliffe, 80 79), Harriet Richardson (Huddersfield, 79 82), Rebecca Simpson (Howley Hall, 81 81), Imogen Eden-covell (Huddersfield, 81 82), Amelia Eden-covell (Huddersfield, 81 84), Charlotte Austwick (Fulford) 85 84, Jessica Smee (Hessle, 77 94) and Georgia Holden (Lightcliffe, 87 86).
