The Curtis Cup player shot a four-over-par 77 to trail the leader, Clitheroe’s Sophie Lamb, by four shots.

Selby’s Ellie Goodall carded 80, three shots better than Rotherham’s Olivia Winning, while Morris’s clubmate Melissa Wood had an 87.

Morris was unable to find a birdie all day, although she did produce an eagle, at the 443-yard par-5 fifth.

Goodall showed tremendous grit by responding to three consecutive double bogeys after the turn with birdies at both 14 and 16.
