Things scarcely improved for the visitors in the 12 singles, their only afternoon victories coming from Bishop Auckland’s Peter Moralee and Middlesbrough’s Stephen Alexander while Thomson halved.

Steve Whitwham (Rudding Park) secured his first solo points in three attempts, defeating Castle Eden’s James Harboard 2&1 while Cowan made it two from two with a 6&4 thumping of Ineos’s Shaun Collier.
Atkins gained consolation for his foursomes defeat with his first singles victory of the season, winning 2&1 against Castle Eden’s Nathan Graham, while Bedale’s James Gaskell also tasted singles success for the first time this campaign with a 5&4 defeat of Donnelly.
Oakdale’s Chris Henderson remains undefeated in singles from three matches, adding a 5&4 win over Saltburn’s Jason Elliott to his previous success and halved match.
Harrogate travel to face Sheffield at Worksop in the next set of fixtures on July 12 while Teesside face leaders Halifax-Huddersfield at Eaglescliffe.
