Andre Fabre expects to find out just how good High Celebrity is when she runs in the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket.
All challengers sent over by the French maestro are worth a second look and his recent record at Newmarket is outstanding, with Miss France landing the 1000 Guineas back in May while Esoterique also scored at that meeting.
High Celebrity made a successful debut at Chantilly last month and Fabre is keen to see how she fares in the Qipco-sponsored race, which is better known as the Cherry Hinton.
“I was not surprised when High Celebrity won very impressively at Chantilly as she works very well in the morning,” he said.
“Friday will provide a good opportunity to assess her ability as I have not got much to compare her with at home.
“I think that she is a Group One filly but she has yet to prove it. The Prix Morny and the Cheveley Park Stakes are possible future targets for her.”
Richard Hannon’s father won this in 2010 with Memory and the yard is represented by Parsley this year. She is more experienced and has her fourth start in the Group Two.
“She won easily at Goodwood and then improved again when runner-up in the Listed Empress Stakes over this course,” said Hannon. “This is another step up in class, but we think she’s ready.”
