The daughter of Captain Gerrard impressed at Bath earlier this month, when successful in a five-and-a-half-furlong maiden, and could now step up in class for the historic conditions stakes on the Westwood.

Lambourn-based Hughes said: “She also holds an entry at Bath on Friday, but her joint-owner, who bred her, is keen to go to Beverley.

“I hadn’t really thought of her as a Royal Ascot horse, but you just never know.”

Nineteen fillies have been confirmed for the five-furlong sprint, won last year by Easton Angel, who subsequently finished second in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Mark Johnston saddled the most famous Hilary Needler heroine in recent history when Attraction claimed the race in 2003 before easily winning the Queen Mary two weeks later.

Udontdodou goes in the Life & Style Handicap but preference is just for Alkhor, who might turn out to be pretty useful.

Richard Hannon’s representative made the most of an odds-on opportunity at Windsor last June, looking like the experience would only do him good.

The fact he has been off since suggests there might have been a problem along the way, but the Hannon horses are going well and while he is more than entitled to improve for this, he might be better than this grade.

Winterval will take a good deal of stopping in The Yorkshire Post Magazine Handicap.

At Wolverhampton, Evenlode might take a bit of beating in the At The Races App On Android Maiden Stakes.

David Barron’s charge found only the much more experienced Udontdodou too good at Thirsk, and while that was admittedly by seven lengths, the winner has advertised his talents again since.

With that under his belt there should be better to come and he is certainly in the right hands to win a race.
