Joe Roebuck secured his second gold medal of the British Gas Swimming Championships, and his third Olympic qualification standard.
The Rotherham swimmer, who won the gold in the 200m butterfly earlier in the week, added the 200m individual medley title to his collection finishing the race in a new personal best time of 1.58.16.
“Once before I had a triple British Champs gold and this time it was two golds and silver but the fact that they all went for Olympic qualification means this was definitely the best of my career,” said Roebuck.
James Goddard came in second – touching in 1.58.42 – with Ieuan Lloyd taking the bronze in 1.59.97.
City of Sheffield’s Rebecca Turner took third place in the 100m freestyle, enough for a spot on the Olympic relay squad, finishing in 54.83.
Sprint specialist Francesca Halsall, from Southport, won the race, with Amy Smith coming close behind in second.
Double Paralympic gold medallist Eleanor Simmonds was delighted after she broke her own SM6 world record in the 200m individual medley final, posting a time 3.08.14 with 1018 points.
