Doncaster 18 Oldham 10
SCRUM-HALF Luke Gale notched his 25th try of the season as Doncaster kept alive their promotion hopes with a hard-fought victory.
There was little to choose between the sides at the start in a game that turned into a tactical battle, but Doncaster made the breakthrough in the 15th minute when Michael Haley forced his way over with Gale tagging on the extras.
Oldham were caught out in defence again a couple of minutes later when Kyle Wood went over, Gale again converted.
The visitors hit back with a 31st-minute try from Tommy Goulden before Gale latched onto a short pass to dummy his way over and add the points for an 18-4 half-time lead.
After the break, the home side were unlucky to have a couple of tries disallowed and after forcing the pace for much of the second period were rocked when Oldham finally broke through in the 68th minute.
Mick Nanyn forced his way over before tagging on the points. But it only proved enough for a bonus point as the home defence held firm.
