Food, glorious food
The new food shop at the Regional Agricultural Centre is getting ready to serve up some of Yorkshire's most mouth watering produce.
Based on the Great Yorkshire Showground, the centre will feature a new shop called Fodder which will specialise in purveying the best of Yorkshire food.
The centre is the brainchild of the Great Yorkshire Show's organisers, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS).
One producer signed up already is Caroline Sellers of the Side Oven Bakery, which produces a range of artisan breads, flours and mueslis.
Based near Driffield in East Yorkshire, the business uses primarily produce from Ms Sellers' farm.
Heather Parry, deputy chief executive of the YAS and self-styled "woman on a mission", pictured above with Caroline Sellers, is now on the hunt for the finest producers Yorkshire and the Humber have to offer. "The Side Oven Bakery was given a 4,000 grant in 2004 by the Yorkshire Agriculture Society's initiative Growing Routes, which supports small rural businesses," said Ms Parry.
