Huddersfield to keep Sculthorpe waiting

HUDDERSFIELD coach Nathan Brown will assess the form of on-loan prop Danny Sculthorpe in the coming weeks before deciding whether to offer him a deal.

The 29-year-old former Wigan forward joined the Giants on a temporary deal in May after running into disciplinary trouble at Wakefield.

Sculthorpe, whose Wildcats contract expires at the end of the season, has expressed a desire to stay at the Galpharm Stadium.

Brown admits he has been impressed with the player so far but a decision is yet to be made.

Brown said: "We basically said to Scully come and train for a few weeks and then we'll give you four or five weeks of football.

"He's played three games and in a few weeks time is probably more when we'll sit back and talk about that.

"Front row is obviously an important position in the game and we have got some areas in our roster we need to improve.

"Whether you are first, second or 10th there are areas you are always looking to improve.

"We feel Scully coming here has given our squad a lift."
