Hull KR aim to get back on track at Wakefield
HULL are hoping a trip to their happy hunting ground will get their engage Super League play-off bid back on track.
The Black and Whites have slipped out of the top eight after losing eight of their last 10 matches but they have won on their eight visits to Belle Vue stretching back to 2003 - a point not lost on Wakefield coach John Kear.
"When I coached Hull we used to come here and fancy our chances," he said.
"Since I've been here, we haven't beaten them at home, although we've been to the KC and won twice there.
"It is something we need to put right, especially if you take into account our last performance at home when we were woeful against Huddersfield.
"One or two of the players have spoken about that. They want to put on a performance for the home fans."
That 54-6 hammering by the Giants was a fifth consecutive defeat stretching back to the Wildcats' 21-14 victory at the KC Stadium in April.
They stopped the rot against Celtic Crusaders a fortnight ago but suffered a seventh defeat of the season at Bradford last Sunday and Hull coach Richard Agar admits it is difficult to know what to expect from this weekend's opponents.
"We've watched some videos of them recently and they're very erratic," said Agar, who was Kear's assistant at Hull before eventually becoming his successor.
"A lot of their individuals do their own thing. They're not the most structured side but certainly show enthusiasm and you can never be sure what they are going to come up with."
Wakefield will be without captain Jason Demetriou, who misses his first match for more than 12 months in order to have minor knee surgery.
