Hull FC's Yeaman aims for December comeback
HULKL FC'S Kirk Yeaman is aiming to return to the squad in mid-December after undergoing specialist surgery on his torn groin tendons.
The centre was unfortunate enough to tear two tendons in his groin during an encounter with Catalans in August and has yet to feature for Richard Agar's men since.
Although after a series of tests from both club specialists and medical staff it was confirmed that Yeaman would go under the knife and a successful operation was carried out last Thursday.
"I have had the operation to re-attach the tendons and all went well but I am now laid up on crutches," said Yeaman.
"I'll be like this for a couple of weeks then I will take it from there, I won't be doing too much for about six weeks then I'll be straight on the bike and working with Popey (Simon Pope - head physio)and we'll see how it goes."
Another setback from FC's visit to France was an injury to Australian hooker Shaun Berrigan and early indications suggested that both Berrigan and Yeaman were set to miss the start of the 2010 season.
Fortunately for Hull things are looking brighter with both Yeaman and Berrigan on the mend.
"Yes it looks good and I will be ready for the start of the new season," commented Yeaman.
"I'll be back with the boys mid-December, I'll miss the first part of pre-season work but I know Popey will put me through my paces.
"But I will get the work in, I'll be back for the warm-up games and already I really can't wait to get back."
