Bradford Bulls have signed France international Jamal Fakir on a contract to the end of the season.

The 31-year-old front-row forward, who was released by Catalan Dragons last month following their poor start to the season, was unveiled by the Bulls’ new owner Marc Green at his first press conference since taking control of the Super League club.

The Moroccan-born Fakir, who played in France’s 2013 World Cup campaign, will help plug the gap caused by the loss of props Garreth Carvell and Nick Scruton, who joined Hull and Wakefield respectively during the club’s financial crisis.

Bulls head coach Francis Cummins is set to give Fakir his Bradford debut in Sunday’s Tetley’s Challenge Cup fourth-round tie against Oldham.
