Moss eager to make an impact at new club Bradford

BRADFORD Bulls' new signing from Parramatta Eels '“ full-back Kieren Moss '“ will be introduced to the Odsal crowd before tomorrow's game against Dewsbury Rams.

The 22-year-old, known for his pace and line-breaking ability, has signed a deal until the end of 2017 and joins up with his former coach Rohan Smith who worked with him at Penrith Panthers.

Moss’s arrival will be a boost as Bradford prepare for the Qualifiers and making a successful bid for promotion back to Super League after missing out in last year’s Million Pound Game at Wakefield.

“It’s very exciting to start a new chapter of my career at Bradford,” he said. “It is going to be a big change for myself moving away from Australia and home, but I think it is for the best. I’m very happy to be a part of Bradford Bulls and hopefully I’ll be able to do some good things with the lads.

“I knew Rohan when I had him as an assistant coach when I was coming through the system at Penrith Panthers.

“Bradford is such a notable club with its history plus having Rohan as the coach; they sealed the deal for me.”

Smith, who takes charge at Odsal for the first time, added: “Kieren is a really good young man and has a lot of ability.

“He performed strongly over several seasons in the Under 20s competition in Australia with Penrith and then moved into the NSW Cup team with them as well.”

Epalahame Lauaki and Ethan Ryan have been recalled to the squad in place of Joe Lumb and Matty Blythe for tomorrow’s game as Bradford, who narrowly lost a thriller against Leigh at Blackpool’s Summer Bash, seek a return to winning ways.

Dewsbury lost 28-24 in their derby with Batley Bulldogs at Blackpool but coach Glenn Morrison said: “We’ve got to get some encouragement out of that.

“I watched Bradford’s game and it was quality and played to Super League standard.

“But we’ve just got to worry about ourselves and get our own game in order. We know that if we turn up and get even possession of the ball and complete sets we can compete with anybody.”
