Featherstone Lions draw fellow amateurs Lock Lane in Challenge Cup

An amateur club is guaranteed a place in the fifth round of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup after two of the five surviving teams were paired together in the fourth-round draw.

Featherstone Lions, the lowest-ranked team left in the competition, were handed a home tie against Castleford neighbours Lock Lane in the draw made by former Cup winners Paul Wellens and Adrian Morley.

Fellow amateurs Siddal face a tough trip to Rochdale.

Bradford Bulls, who last won the Cup in 2003, were drawn away to Dewsbury Rams in one of five all-Championship ties while the University of Gloucestershire’s reward for knocking out North Wales is a trip to France to take on Toulouse.

The 12 winners of the fourth-round ties will be joined in the draw for the next round by last year’s bottom four Super League clubs, Hull KR, Salford, Widnes and Wakefield, with the other eight top-flight clubs entering at the sixth-round stage.

The fourth-round draw is: Batley v Whitehaven, Hunslet v Doncaster, Sheffield Eagles v Swinton, Featherstone Lions v Lock Lane, Oldham v Kells, Rochdale v Siddal, Pilkington Recs v Halifax, Dewsbury v Bradford, Leigh v Workington, York v Keighley, London Broncos v Featherstone Rovers, Toulouse v University of Gloucestershire. Ties to be played on the weekend of March 19-20.
