HULL FC head coach Lee Radford believes Marc Sneyd can fulfil his England ambitions having signed a new two-year deal at the KCOM Stadium.

The prolific scrum-half, who joined for around £100,000 from Salford Red Devils at the start of 2015, has been a revelation for the Airlie Birds.

He helped them win the Challenge Cup last season, claiming the Lance Todd Trophy as man-of-the-match in the Wembley win over Warrington, and was also awarded the club’s player of the year award.

Sneyd’s deal was set to expire at the end of this season and Radford said: “I’m really pleased Marc has agreed to extend his contract with the club.

“I think his game-management has been developing over the last couple of seasons and it’s only going to get better.

“I know Marc has international aspirations and hopefully with some consistent form over the next couple of seasons, he can achieve that with us.

“He’s a big part of the group and really seems to have found a home here.

“He’s tasted some success last season and I know along with the rest of the group he’s desperate for some more.”

Hull, who led Super League for most of last season, took up the option of a two-year extension to keep the former Castleford Tigers player at the club until the end of 2019.

The 26-year-old goal-kicker, set to play in Thursday’s live televised home game with Catalans Dragons, said: “I’m really happy to be staying at the club and to take up the option.

“We had a good year last year and the whole team played really well, which made my job a lot easier.

“A few lads recently have extended their deals with the club and it shows that people realise how good it is here and what potential we have. Hopefully we can have similar success to what we had last year.”
