Gardner makes switch to Rovers
With David Hodgson, Omari Caro, Sean Gleeson and Craig Hall all sidelined through injury, the 30-year-old will go straight into the Robins’ squad for Friday’s trip to Wigan.
Prolific Gardner has scored 173 tries in 286 appearances for St Helens but is currently out of favour with coach Nathan Brown.

Hide AdHull KR coach Craig Sandercock, still awaiting his side’s first win this season, said: “With David, Omari, Sean and Craig all missing at the moment, we are very thin in the outside backs.
“That being the case, we’ve had no real option but to go into the loan market and Ade Gardner fits the bill perfectly for us.
“His record speaks for itself and he’ll bring plenty of quality and experience to the side over the next month.”
Hall did not, as initially feared, rupture a testicle in Friday’s loss at Saints, but he could still be facing a few weeks on the sidelines.
