Winger Fox is keen to enjoy exciting times ahead for buoyant Wakefield

PETER FOX says his four years at Hull KR were some of the most memorable of his career but it is the potential of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats that excites him most.

The ex-England winger has a swift reunion with his former team-mates when Trinity host Rovers tomorrow in only their second Super League game of the season.

It came as a surprise to many that the East Yorkshire club allowed Fox to leave with a year remaining on his deal but he accepts he needed a fresh challenge and holds no bitterness.

“I’m sure they’ll all be out to get me and vice versa,” he told the Yorkshire Post.

“It’s going to be weird going up against them but it was the first fixture I looked out for. I loved it at Hull KR but it was the right time to move on and these are exciting times for Wakefield.”

Fox scored a hat-trick in his 100th Rovers appearance, ironically against Wakefield in July and the last tries he notched for the club.

He had been their top scorer for three consecutive seasons since joining from Trinity, but fell out of favour in 2011 and is now eager to rediscover his best form for the 2012 campaign.

Fox, 27, started well with a brace in Wakefield’s opening victory over Widnes Vikings and has certainly returned a more rounded player to the one who left after a breakthrough 2007.

“Last year wasn’t my best so I want to get going again,” he added.

“Widnes was a good way to start but things will take their time here. We’re a new team with new partnerships which need to gel.

“There’s a new coach and owners too but there’s a good professional vibe about the place and we’re looking to build for the future.”

Rovers, meanwhile, are seeking to respond after their spirited loss at Leeds, coach Craig Sandercock is considering recalling winger Sam Latus with hooker Keal Carlile dropping out.
