SAMIR Tahraoui enjoyed a dream debut as leaders Keighley ruthlessly dismantled their Welsh visitors to march to an emphatic victory.
The Algeria-born Bradford Bulls prop, who stands 6ft 6in, has joined the Cougars on a one-month loan deal and his performance left the home faithful delighted.
Tahraoui, who has fallen down the pecking order at Odsal, came off the bench to enjoy a major influence on proceedings against his former club as Paul March’s men ran riot at Cougar Park.
Keighley, a man down after two minutes when Jode Sheriffe went off injured, took the lead when Josh Lynam touched down.
It was soon 10-0 as scrum-half Adam Brook, also on loan from Bradford, raced through a gap to score.
Rikki Sheriffe dived over in the corner five minutes later before Danny Lawton leapt on Handforth’s grubber to make the score 18-0 on 26 minutes.
Andy Gabriel went over for back-to-back tries before Danny Lawton went over after good work from Lynam.
After the break, South Wales responded when Paul Emanuelli went over but Brook soon bagged his second.
Ash Lindsay fought his way over for the next try on 57 minutes before Gabriel notched his hat-trick by scoring in the corner.
The 60-point mark came up on 70 minutes after Neil Cherryholme powered through and Lawton added the extras again.
As the final hooter approached, a good set of six saw Tahraoui break through and with the one-hand offload he supplied Paul Handforth to score a final try that Lawton improved.
