Wharfedale rallied after conceding five tries in the first half but still lost 34-19 at Richmond.

They kept the Londoners out and scored two tries after the break to bring some respectability.

A bonus-point try looked on as Dale pressed hard but Richmond, conceding penalties and picking up a yellow card, held out.

Richmond opened with a walk-in try from No 8 Chris Davies, which Rob Kirby converted before adding a penalty. Unconverted tries from Jordan Burns and Kino Corradi soon followed before Jack Barnard crossed for Wharfedale and Lloyd Davies added the extras. Ross Jones-Davies and Jordan Burns touched down for converted tries to make it 34-7 at the break.

Dale’s fightback was highlighted by tries from James Druce and Jake Armstrong, with Davies converting the second.
