SHEFFIELD Wednesday midfielder Isaiah Osbourne is bringing the ‘winning mentality’ back to his game.
Osbourne is on loan from Aston Villa until the end of the season and manager Gary Megson feels his initial performances suffered from a lack of competitive football at the Premier League club.
Now things are improving and Osbourne, 23, helped the Owls record two victories in three games ahead of today’s game with Notts County at Hillsborough.
“When you are playing reserve team football, results don’t matter and it’s all about improving your game,” said Megson. “If you are there for a long time, you don’t become results orientated but in the first team you have got to have that. I have spoken to ‘Ozzy’ and he is adjusting to that.”
Osbourne has yet to indicate whether he wants to stay with the Owls next season and Megson says it is too early to start planning.
“Long term, there are things I know I want to change and players I want to bring in,” he said. “At the moment, everything is focused on the here and now.”
