DAY two of the Great Yorkshire Show - and for the breeders, it's the big one.
With the Pig of the Year and Supreme Dairy Championships, along with other cattle class finals, Wednesday sees the competition hotting up.

Away from the show rings crowds applauded an incredible display of skill, agility and power, in the Great British Pole Climbing Championship. The contest saw the cream of the sport racing up 80ft poles in around 20 seconds flat.

It attracts some unexpectedly mature climbers. Jim Crawford, at 77, is thought to be the world's oldest competitor - and still achieving respectable times.

The competition winner will be known on Thursday.
