Video: It’s Army Gangnam-style as troops raise money for Yorkshire charity

BRITISH troops in Afghanistan have come up with their own version of the worldwide music hit Gangnam Style - to raise money for a mountain rescue charity in the Yorkshire Dales.

Soldiers from 21 Engineer Regiment have released a music video spoofing the South Korean original by the rapper Psy, which has been viewed more than 970 million times on YouTube.

The troops from 7 Headquarters and Support Squadron say their version, “Afghan Style” has a regional twist.

They filmed it over a three-month period during periods of downtime and after work, with help from the British Forces Broadcasting Service in Afghanistan.

They hope the video will help raise money for the Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team in North Yorkshire, whose online donations page is at www.justgiving.com/raise-the-fleet.
