Here is this week's top pick of good value bottles to savour
Falanghina dei Feudi di San Gregorio 2008, Italy, Majestic down from £10.99 to £8.79 on multibuy until August 31: A delicious white wine with a difference. Soft aromatic white blossom aromas with a positive, minerally, apricot and me
lon-fruit palate and a long, food-friendly finish.

Jacob's Creek Steingarten Riesling 2007, Australia, Tesco down from £13.99 to £9.79 until June 30: If you have never bought a Jacob's Creek wine before, then start with this one. Full of crisp lemon and lime fruit and crunchy minerally flavours. Great with Thai food or fish.

Casillero del Diablo Shiraz 2008, Chile, Tesco down from £6.99 to £4.99 until June 20: Another big winery managing to pack quality into the bottle for a good-value price. Concha y Toro consistently delivers ripe, spice-driven fruit with soft tannins. Delicious with a peppered steak.

Viña Pomal 2003 Rioja Reserva, Spain, Majestic down from £10.99 to £6.99 on multibuy until August 31: Full of soft, ripe, black fruits with supple velvety tannins and a long, elegant finish, this is almost too good to drink alongside the barbie, but it is certainly cheap enough.
