Work begins on major affordable housing development in Huddersfield

Work has started on a major affordable housing scheme in West Yorkshire.

Urban Group (York) Ltd has won a contract from Yorkshire Housing to deliver 22 homes in Newsome, Huddersfield.

The site, off Hart Street, is close to a former mill and Urban Group is carrying out the remediation phase of the project before starting infrastructure works. The scheme comprises a mix of two and three-bed semi-detached affordable homes, as well as associated landscaping, access, roads, and sewer installation. The development is expected to be completed in spring 2024.
