While the UK's restaurant and fine dining scene has suffered greatly in the past year, some of Yorkshire's finest chefs have been among many to be served up some brilliant news.

Several other restaurants in the region are among Michelin's recommendations.
Here are the new entries to the 2021 guide below.
Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall, Ripon
Originally from Yorkshire, chef Shaun Rankin trained with the best at The Mayfair Hotel in London and now is based at Ormer, London. His fine dining restaurant based in an old music room at five-star luxury hotel and wellness retreat Grantley Hall, near Ripon, is a new addition to 2021's Michelin Guide with its tasting menu inspired by his childhood memories and superb knowledge of the surrounding area. Chef Rankin has made numerous TV appearances, most notably on Masterchef UK in 2017, when Ormer Mayfair was featured as a location for the programme.
Roots, York
A former arts and crafts pub and sister restaurant to The Black Swan, Roots based in York city centre is the latest addition to the Michelin Guide this year. Ingredients are sourced from chef and owner Tommy Banks' parents' farm at Oldstead and the evolving menu includes smoked eel with whey and chive, and scallop with sour honey and pickled mussel. Following the announcement, Roots tweeted they were "absolutely thrilled and honoured" with the accolade.
