Bond girl Gemma shortlisted for award
The actress, who only graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art three years ago, is up against Andrew Garfield, Tom Hardy, Aaron Johnson and Emma Stone.
Arterton, who starred alongside Daniel Craig in the Quantum Of Solace before taking the title role in Stephen Frears' Tamara Drewe, said: "I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to be one of the shortlisted actors for the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award. 2010 was an incredible year for me and to be recognised in this way by both my peers and the film-going public is amazing.

The actor, who is is due to appear in a remake of cold war
thriller Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, said: "I am so grateful to be doing what I love for a living, that is more than enough for me, so it's really kind of you to go out of your way to vote for me at all for any award."
Garfield, whose performance in The Social Network won him a Golden Globe nomination, has just started filming in the lead role in the new Spider-Man film.

Johnson gained critical acclaim for his role as John Lennon in artist Sam Taylor Wood's Nowhere Boy and then hit the front pages when details of the pair's romance were made public.
The winner of the award will be announced at the Baftas on February 13.
Previous winners include James McAvoy, Shia LaBeouf, Noel Clarke and Kristen Stewart.
