Batemoor shooting: Woman stabbed and gunshots fired after incident in Yorkshire

A woman was stabbed and a gunshot fired during a serious incident in Yorkshire.

Officers in Sheffield were called to a property in White Thorn View in Batemoor at 11.20pm on Monday, May 13.

An altercation had taken place between a group of a men and a woman, South Yorkshire Police said.

The 41-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Her injures are not thought to be life-threatening or life-altering and she remains in hospital at this time.

It is believed the firearms discharge took place after the altercation.

Detective Inspector Claire Moss, from our dedicated Armed Crime Team and the senior investigator officer on this case said: "Fortunately, no one sustained life-threatening injuries or was harmed following the firearms discharge. This could have been a different story with a very different outcome.”
