Church Street, Barnsley: Boy, 10, injured after hit and run involving van in Yorkshire

A 10-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after a hit and run in Yorkshire.

The boy was hit by a van in Church Street, Barnsley, at 5.55pm on Tuesday, May 14.

He suffered injuries including a fractured cheekbone. He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The van driver drove away from the scene, South Yorkshire Police (SYP) said.

Enquiries are ongoing to identify the driver.

SYP are appealing to anyone with information to contact them quoting incident number 792 of 14 May 2024.
