The Prince of Wales was joined by his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, during the visit on the second day of this year’s event and met leading figures of the region’s farming industry, including the show director Bill Cowling.
The Royal couple, who last visited the event in 2006, toured the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate to sample some of the region’s famous produce which is on offer in the Food Hall – including a slice of Real Yorkshire Wensleydale from the Wensleydale Creamery at Hawes.
Prince Charles, who is the patron of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society which organises the show, and the Duchess of Cornwall lingered an hour longer than programmed.

The Yorkshire Post revealed earlier this week that the grants will support a range of projects.

The final day of the three-day event is today and is due to include a landing by the Red Devils skydiving team in the afternoon, and the Cock o’ the North showjumping championship.
