Billboards show green credentials
The street hoardings, produced by a 160-strong business network, have been placed in Castle Street and the dry dock near The Deep visitor centre and have been designed to tell the city’s story in pictures.
The story, Green Growth, Blue Horizons, is also being told in a book and a series of short films, which the group said was based on the “enduring importance of the area’s waterscape, its enterprising nature and global outlook”.

Hide AdJim Dick, chairman of Hull and East Yorkshire Bondholders, said: “We know our time has come again, but we need to take every opportunity to promote our renewed confidence and potential to the outside world. We want to build on our commercial credentials that are inextricably linked to our enviable UK east coast location, our maritime expertise, and the global need for investment in new energy.
“The renewables revolution is giving Hull and East Yorkshire a once-in-a-lifetime chance to exploit its waterscape again and we need to communicate this in as powerful a way possible.”
The hoardings feature wind, tidal stream and biofuels investments in a series of images and quotes from investors.
