Rugby bosses tour city for world cup bid
The city’s two rival Super League rugby league clubs and council representatives showed the visitors the stadiums and potential training camps that have been put forward in Hull’s proposal to stage quarter-final or semi-final matches.
People are being urged to get behind the bid by adding their name to petitions in shops, shopping centres and council buildings, or using a new online form at www.hullcc.gov.uk/RLWC2013.

Results of the bid will be announced in October.
Lord Prescott, an associate director at Hull Kingston Rovers, who formed part of the delegation at Craven Park, said: “With the developments at Craven Park and the KC Stadium widely regarded as one of the game’s most impressive venues, Hull has two stadia that are fit to host World Cup matches, and what’s more, the people of Hull will ensure they are filled to capacity.”
