EFL Cup: Hull City, Leeds United fail to land big guns in third round
Hull City’s reward for a 3-1 win after the long haul to Exeter, is a trip to fellow Premier League side Stoke City.
And Leeds United – 1-0 winners at Luton Town on Tuesday night – will host their Championship rivals, Blackburn Rovers, in the next round. Ties to be played week commencing September 19.

Hide AdMatty Pearson struck in the closing seconds as fourth-tier Accrington dumped Lancashire neighbours and Premier League newcomers Burnley out the EFL Cup in the second round.
Pearson averted a penalty shootout in the last minute of extra-time at the Crown Ground, sweeping home from a goalmouth scramble to secure a 1-0 win, a major scalp and local bragging rights.
The Clarets have now lost at this stage for three years running but would have averted a shock result this time had substitute Andre Gray finished a fine late chance at the end of 90 minutes.
The draw for the third round of the EFL Cup is:
Nottingham Forest v Arsenal
Leeds v Blackburn
QPR v Sunderland
West Ham v Accrington
Southampton v Crystal Palace
Swansea v Man City
Fulham v Bristol City
Bournemouth v Preston
Tottenham v Gillingham
Everton v Norwich
Derby v Liverpool
Northampton v Manchester United
Brighton v Reading
Newcastle v Wolves
Stoke v Hull
Leicester v Chelsea
