Tate leaves Leeds United, Helan departs Sheffield Wednesday

Leeds defender Alan Tate has returned to his parent club Swansea City.

The 30-year-old defender made 11 appearances during a two-month loan spell at Elland Road.

Leeds manager Neil Warnock will not be making another move for the defender as he focuses on strengthening his attacking options.

Sheffield Wednesday have also lost a loan defender with Jeremy Helan returning to Premier League champions Manchester City.

The left-sided player scored once in nine games and was famously booked twice in the goalless draw at Huddersfield Town and not sent off.

Wednesday are also set to allow midfielder Chris Lines to join League One side MK Dons on a month’s loan.

Meanwhile, Barnsley manager David Flitcroft has said that he has spoken to Trinidad striker Jason Scotland about the 33-year-old free agent joining the Reds.

Scotland was released by Ipswich on Monday.
