All smiles for a radiant lip service

New make-up ranges are making their way on to counters for autumn. Stephanie Smith checks out what's coming soon.

Red is back big-time for lips, as the new collection from Bourjois, Sweet Kiss Les Rouges, illustrates, blending waxes and oils for intense and radiantly wicked red smile. It's got argan oil, plus vitamins C and E to keep away chapping and splitting during winter, and there are even handy colour selecting suggestions: Fair skin, try 75 (pinky toned Rouge Parisienne) or 76 (Rouge Fashion – a truer red); olive skin, try 76 or 78 (Rouge Intemporel, a wine red); and dark skin, try 77 (Rouge Casual, a mauve red) or 78. Each costs 7.99 at Boots, Superdrug, Asos.com and department stores.

Smoke and Fire is the new autumn make-up trend from The Body Shop, taking its cues from the smouldering shades of nature, mixing earthy tones with a flash of light inspired by September skies. A Body Shop make-up artist can show you how to apply the look first, if you like. Autumn Leaves Compact costs 16 and comes in two palettes, Chestnut or Berry, while the Kajal Eyeliner, in charcoal, evergreen or steel, costs 7. From Body Shop stores or on www.thebodyshop.com.
